Le "D" site

TDC established Le “D” Site at the end of 2017 to promote creative collaborations in Taiwan’s design-related industries. It invited 6 teams in the fields of social design, fashion design, licensing, and more to establish a presence in the space. It is our hope that that the design ideas emerging from Le “D” Site will sow the seeds for Taiwanese design services to blossom into major actors in the professional design services field.

Social Design Platform

5% Design Action

Company Introduction and Core Operations

More than merely requiring good design, social innovation involves co-creation using systematic methods and mechanisms to support and drive long-term investment from stakeholders. Thus, social design platform 5% Design Action works on the principle that social innovation relies not so much on design thinking as on practical design action.

Established in the spring of 2013, 5% Design Action is a social innovation platform that invites designers and experts from different fields to devote 5% of their leisure time to volunteering their knowledge and professional skills to non-profit public and private sector organizations and developing design solutions for social issues. Currently, over 3700 designers and experts in a variety of fields have participated in social innovation projects that focus on issues in education, medicine, the environment, and economics.

Collaborative Projects

  • Design Exhibitions: Participation in and assistance with social design seminars, co-creation and related promotional events organized by TDC.
  • Cross-Domain Integration: Building on TDC’s networks in industry, government, and academia to assist in domestic and international design activities.

DreamVok is the Industrial Technology Research Institute’s first-ever innovation design company in over forty years of history. Agoood brings consumers and enterprises together through involving them in kind acts and connecting them with disadvantaged groups to co-create new value. Through persistent kind acts, a better social participation model can be created in which small acts of kindness accumulate into a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts and in which talent is utilized to its fullest. In Agoood’s model, every participant is respected and the concept of valuing the talents of the disadvantaged is actualized through concrete activities. In this way, Agoood enables public participation and takes social care to the next level.

Their core operations include:

  • B2B: Cultural and creative image licensing (applied to spaces, products, events, etc.)
  • B2C: Product development for creators (mainly for cultural and creative lifestyle products)
  • Social Services: Inviting citizens to joint-participation co-creation activities

Collaborative Projects

  • Industry Orientation: Most of Agoood’s members are involved in design; their goal is to create possibilities for the disadvantaged in society through the perspective of creative design. They work with TDC to provide social design services for enterprises and use creative design to help enterprises develop new directions for engaging in corporate social responsibility (CSR).
  • Education Orientation: Organizing seminars with TDC to enhance public understanding of social design.

Agoood Co., Ltd

Museum Making Creatives provides cultural institutions such as museums with creative strategy package services including integrated soft and hard support services. Hard services include museum space evaluation and consulting, and exhibition design updating and assessments. Soft services include management reviews, exhibition content development and consulting, publications content and positioning design consulting and work, audience segmentation strategies, and community outreach consulting and strategies.

  • Creative strategy package services for museums/cultural institutions: Operational and exhibition planning for design museums, assessment and consulting for performance and exhibition spaces of museums and cultural centers in cities and counties across Taiwan.

AFD is the first and largest design trade union in France. It also serves as a mutual fund for independent designers, business owners, and in-house designers in fields ranging from information to products and spaces. AFD offers a Code of Ethics for Professional Designers and provides small and medium-sized enterprises and institutions with information on best practices in bidding and purchasing, making it the perfect partner for organizations involved in the design profession. Moreover, it implements design outreach and communication and promotes collective action on economic, environmental, and cultural issues.

Collaborative Projects

  • Elite Program: Recruiting Taiwanese designers and enterprises to become AFD international members through TDC. There are a total of thirty membership openings (20 for designers and 10 for enterprises).
  • Blue Sky Program: Participation in Taiwanese, cross-strait, and international exhibitions with TDC; introducing Taiwanese design and industries to global platforms to enhance their commercial value.
